See Basking Sharks in the Surrounding Waters – April 2017

Basking sharks are the world’s second largest fish. They differ from most sharks in that they do not have giant teeth but instead have massive mouths, which they open and use to filter plankton by trapping it in their gillrakers, allowing them to feed.

They can be up to 8m long and are definitely worth seeing! Throughout the month of April, you can see basking sharks in the surrounding water of Inishbofin.
